The DIT LGBT Society is a society for DIT students who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender, and their straight friends.
The Society aims to provide a safe environment for its members to get together for our weekly meetings and the various events we hold throughout the year. While we are predominantly a fun-focused social group we also aim to raise the profile of issues that LGBT students are faced with.
Membership to DIT LGBT is open to all DIT students, and if you joined last year you'll need to sign up again, but membership is a mere €2! You'll get a membership card with great discounts, and other goodies too.
We'll have a stand at the Clubs & Societies Festival which takes place from the 24th-28th September 2012 in the following buildings;
Monday 24th - Kevin St
Tuesday 25th - Aungier St
Wednesday 26th - Cathal Brugha St, Mountjoy Square, and Rathmines
Thursday 27th - Bolton St
If you can't make it along to the Clubs & Societies festival, either drop into your nearest Societies office, or email us at
lgbt@socs.dit.ie with your name, student number, email address and mobile number and we'll sign you up!
If you'd like to come along to an event but are discouraged or nervous by not knowing anyone, get in touch with us by e-mail and a committee member or two can meet up with you beforehand to talk and introduce you to some people!
